Le Québec Food Directory is an electronic showcase that promotes Québec’s food products to:

  • Professional buyers for domestic and international retailers, wholesalers, hotels, restaurants and public institutions
  • Québec food manufacturers and processors

The Directory is a one-stop shop for information about Québec’s food products, making it an excellent way to boost the visibility of Québec companies’ products and multiply business opportunities.

Add your products to the Québec Food Directory

Bio-food businesses can grow the Directory by adding their food products that are produced or processed in Québec.

To be added, a business must do one of the following:

1. Add their products to GS1 Canada’s The Vault platform

2. Add their products directly to the Québec Food Directory

1. Add your products to GS1 Canada:

A. Add your products and make sure that the product information is complete and up to date

Start by following the instructions to add MAPAQ as a trading partner for your company in GS1 Canada.

B. For each product (in the sections “Certifications des produits” [Product Certifications] and “Allégations relatives aux produits du Canada” [Canadian Product Claims]), enter the relevant information in the following fields:

  • If applicable, whether the product holds one of these certification marks: Aliments du Québec, Aliments préparés au Québec, Aliments du Québec bio or Aliments préparés au Québec bio
  • The province where the product was processed
  • The province where the product was packaged

To improve product visibility in the Directory, we recommend submitting images of the products and entering planogram, nutritional, marketing and ECCnet eCommerce content data.

C. Send the information below to Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation (MAPAQ):

  • Company name
  • Québec Enterprise Number (10-digit code)
  • Primary GLN code (13-digit identification code assigned by GS1 Canada)
  • Company website
  • Contact person’s name, email address and phone number

This information must be emailed to Pilotage.RAQ@mapaq.gouv.qc.ca.

2. Add your products directly to the Québec Food Directory

Québec companies can directly add their food products that are produced or processed in Québec to the Directory.

I want to add my company to the Québec Food Directory

To use the Québec Food Directory, you must be registered with the Espace client, which gives businesses secure access to MAPAQ’s online services.

To use the Espace client, you must:

  • Have a Québec Enterprise Number (NEQ) issued by the Enterprise Register
  • Have a clicSÉQUR – Entreprises account
  • Sign up to receive MAPAQ services electronically on clicSÉQUR – Entreprises

clicSÉQUR – Entreprises is the government of Québec’s authentication service that provides secure access to online services offered by departments and agencies.

Register for the Espace client

The registration request will be processed within 48 hours.

When you register for the Espace client, you will automatically be sent a request for access to the Québec Food Directory. You will not be sent a notice of approval or denial, but you can view your request’s status in the Espace client. If you see the Accéder au Répertoire des aliments québécois [Access the Québec Food Directory] link, your request has been approved; If you see the Demander l’accès au Répertoire des aliments québécois [Request access to the Québec Food Directory] link, it has not. Click on that link to submit a new request.

I want to add my products to the Directory

Once your business’s registration with the Québec Food Directory has been approved, you may start adding your products:

Once logged in, you will see a product management menu. This gives you access to your business’s products and options to add food products.

A MAPAQ representative may reach out to your business’s contact person to finalize its file.
