To be included in the Québec Food Directory, a company must complete the following steps:

1. Add their products to GS1 Canada’s ECCnet Registry

a) Add the ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation (MAPAQ) as a trading partner so that the products in question will appear in the Directory. Follow the instructions to do so.

In each product’s sheet (“Certifications des produits” [Product Certifications] and “Allégations relatives aux produits du Canada” [Canadian Product Claims] sections), indicate the information in the following fields, if applicable:

  • Aliments du Québec [Québec Food];
  • Aliments préparés au Québec [Food Prepared in Québec];
  • Aliments du Québec bio [Québec Organic Food];
  • Aliments préparés au Québec bio [Organic Food Prepared in Québec];
  • Name of the province where the product was processed;
  • Name of the province where the product was packaged.

To improve your visibility in the Directory, if you have not already done so, submit your products for image capture and data entry regarding planogram content, nutritional content, marketing content and ECCnet eCommerce Content.

For any technical support with this part of registration, please contact GS1 Canada directly at 1-800-567-7084 or

2. Update company information on the iCRIQ website

Click here to start your update.

Scroll down through the form until reaching the MAPAQ section and click on the “Modifier” (“Edit”) button. Enter your company’s primary GLN in the field provided (13-digit identification number assigned by GS1 Canada). Click the “Continuer” (“Next”) button at the bottom of the page to save and close this section of the form. Scroll to the end of the form and click on “Terminer” (“Finish”) to send the information. Adding this number enables the company data to be linked with GS1 Canada Registry product information.

Only Québec companies, Québec products and products processed or packaged in Québec will be registered to the Directory.
